Regular household cleaning consists of cleaning the parts of the house that you come into contact with on a daily basis. In the kitchen, for example, countertops, stove tops, dishes and floors are cleaned.

A general cleaning is a much more thorough cleaning that involves a cleaning crew and professional materials and equipment. It involves cleaning all the corners of the house that you may not visit regularly, which means it will take much longer. In the kitchen, for example, it would include cleaning the oven, refrigerator, all cabinets, interior windows, etc. Seasonal cleaning can also include professional carpet cleaning.
